ADR transport refers to the transportation of dangerous goods according to the regulations of the “Accord européen relatif au transport international des marchandises dangereuses par route.” This includes substances such as chemicals, flammable materials and other dangerous goods that require special handling and safety measures. Every aspect of transportation, from packaging to marking and documentation, must comply with strict ADR regulations.

Which goods are subject to ADR transport?

In ADR transport, it is important that hazardous materials are classified correctly. Each substance has its own ADR class, with different regulations applying to packaging, labeling, documentation, and transport safety. Class 1. Explosive substances.
Explosive substances and objects that produce gas during a reaction, thereby creating a hazard. There are very strict safety regulations for this category.
Class 2. Gases.

Class 3. Flammable liquids.
This ADR class includes, among other things, gasoline, diesel, ethanol, acetone, and various chemical liquids that are highly flammable.
Class 4. Flammable solids.
Solids that, under certain conditions, may cause a fire or may spontaneously ignite during storage or transport.
Class 5. Oxidizing substances and organic peroxides.
Substances that can promote or accelerate combustion and therefore require special safety measures.
Class 6. Toxic Substances.
Chemical products that may be harmful to humans, animals, or the environment if inhaled, swallowed, or if they come into contact with the skin.
Class 7. Radioactive materials.
Specific substances that emit radioactive radiation and may be transported only under strict conditions.
Class 8. Corrosive substances.
Corrosive substances, such as acids and alkalis, that can cause damage to materials, people, or the environment.
Class 9. Miscellaneous hazardous substances.
Substances that do not fall under any other ADR class but do pose a risk during ADR transport. For example, lithium batteries and environmentally hazardous substances.
